Since the 70's, Tribe is a cult record label. The collective, founded in Detroit by Phil Ranelin and Wendell Harrison, counts in its ranks Marcus Belgrave and Doug Hammond too. The first rebirth of Tribe was in fact in Carl Craig's album "Detroit Experiment" in 2003, with in particular "Taste of Tribe", "Space Odyssey" and a beautiful Belgrave's solo trumpet on a version of "Think Twice".
The 3 musicians come back in 2009 with their own album, Doug Hammond with them, and always produced by the golden electro DJ Carl Graig.
