GIL SCOTT-HERON - YOUR DADDY LOVES YOU

("Winter In America", Strata-East, 1973)

This album is one of the Gil Scott-Heron's rarest LP. He recorded it with Brian Jackson (vocals, piano) for the Strata-East New York label (the only one of Scott-Heron for them).
It's a dark album mixing comments on every days of life with wider political issues, and contains one of his most famous songs "The Bottle" (about alcoholism).
On the other hand, you find "Your Daddy Loves You", a fantastic declaration of love dedicated to his own daughter Gia Louise.
