I love the voice of Esther Phillips !!! She started to sing on Savoy Records when she was 14 years old (Little Esther).
Between 1964 and 1970, she was on Atlantic label... The album "And I Love Him" was released in this period, and regrouped some love songs : "I Wish You Love", "The Girl From Ipanema", and "Makin' Whoopee", wrote by Walter Donaldson (music) and Gus Khan (lyrics).
Whoopee is an exclamation of joy and excitement... THIS IS HOT BABY !!!!!
