Robert Glasper is, for me, one of the best new jazz pianist in the world. As Christian Scott, he has a large and great vision of jazz music. He really knows traditions, but plays jazz with some modern influences.
Glasper is, on the other hand, pianist for a lot of rappers in NYC, as Mos Def or Bilal, who are on his record "Double Booked" (2009).
First, check "F.T.B.", from his Blue Note album, and then, listen to the live version @ Red Cat... Mos Def in on stage, and rap the incredible "Thieves in the Night", from his album "Black Star" with Talib Kweli !
