("Duets", Stax Records, 1968)
As long as I live, I'll love Southern Soul ! You should read "Sweet Soul Music", by Peter Guralnick, telling the story of this deep music.
William Bell, today productor, is the one who makes the sound of Stax Records, and then a part of Southern Soul music, in the early sixties. He recorded this album (not the best, but I like this song) in the late '60s, with partners Judy Clay, Carla Thomas, and Mavis Staples; the ones with Clay were the most successful, "My Baby Specializes" becoming modest R&B hits, composed by Mr.Isaac Hayes.
